With the city lights so bright these days even astronauts in space can see the sprawling glow, it’s difficult to imagine what it was like before Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. French photographer Thierry Cohen helps us create those images of the unfathomable with his gallery Darken Skies, a series that takes incredible photographs of Montana’s stars and then uses them as backdrops to some of the world’s most populated cities.
