Over the past year or so, I’ve been trying to find a space-saving resolution to my turntable set up. The room where the get up would go is a typical San Franciscan room – asymmetrical and tiny – and having a full blown turntable, preamp, speaker combination would never suffice.
Thankfully though, I think I may have found the answer to my petty problems. American guitar amp company Marshall is releasing the portable Stanmore loudspeaker, which gives me plenty of options for connectivity and listening. The small speaker connects to smartphones, turntables, televisions, or wirelessly via Bluetooth. There are multiple connection source options including Bluetooth and three audio inputs: 3.5mm, RCA, or optical audio input. And besides all of the technical stuff, the speaker looks amazing with it’s brown vinyl covering, vintage mesh grill and Marshall logo. Doesn’t it look like it’s part of the Marshall heritage collection? Anyway, I’ll let you know how things pan out if I do end up giving it a whirl.
