Stunning Stone Lithographs by French Artists Ella & Pitr

In an attempt to truly understand the blood, sweat, and tears that go into creating a lithograph, this informative and personal mini-documentary by French urban art retailer Sold Art does the trick. While the art form is 200 years old, the charming video features the artist couple Ella & Pitr as they demonstrate the intricate technical work and craftsmanship that goes into producing a new lithograph. From the inking of the original work directly onto limestone, to the etching away of the remaining stone using mild acid, to the setting of the printing press, and finally the mechanical process of printing itself, the traditional technique leaves for no doubt that it is a fascinating and great way to produce quality art work.
